Braces
Orthodontic treatment is the dental treatment specifically designed to re-position teeth to an ideal alignment. We understand the importance of braces and are here to give you the treatment options that will best fit your individual needs. Braces can be different for everyone, which is why you’ll likely hear stories about different experiences from different people who have worn them. Thankfully, due to some they are made of ceramic which allows the clear brace to blend in with the color of the teeth. It makes the braces look practically invisible. If the idea of having metal braces on your teeth is unappealing to you, clear braces should be considered. Most of the time, people won’t even know you have braces while your teeth are getting straightened!
Lingual Braces
Lingual braces are actually placed behind the teeth. They serve as another option for you to live your life normally, without anyone noticing that you even have braces. The lingual braces we use are called “Incognito”. They are a completely customized appliance with both the braces and the wires custom made for each individual patient. They will be placed behind the teeth, and all the work will be done from there. You’ll be straightening out your smile without anyone even realizing you’re going through orthodontics!
What is a good age to get braces?
Although it is never too late to get braces, it is best that your child gets thorough orthodontic screening at a young age, in order to develop a long-term treatment plan and to identify potential issues that may require earlier intervention. It’s recommended that children should have thorough orthodontic screening done by age 7.
The optimal time for children to have braces placed is between ages 10 to 14, after the adult teeth have fully grown in. This is an optimal time, in that the head and mouth are still growing and teeth are more conducive to straightening. It is also considered the best age range for braces from a social perspective. Since braces have to be worn for some considerable amount of time, it's often best to undergo treatment and get it out of the way during this age period, rather than later in adolescence when the child may be more reluctant to wearing braces.
Although most times young children are monitored during their growth to start treatment during development, there is no such thing as it's too late. Treatment can be accomplished in adulthood too. As a matter of fact, one out of every four orthodontic cases are done on adults.
